Justice or privilege? a reality check
Justice, in theory, should be equal for everyone. But in practice, it rarely is.
In our society, justice often depends on status, influence, and convenience. Many good people never receive justice while those who commit serious crimes escape punishment due to their power or connections. Laws are applied not based on the truth but on what serves the system best.
What’s even more troubling is how society punishes some while forgiving others for the same crimes. This inequality weakens our faith in institutions and creates a cycle where people lose hope in real justice.
Some say that jail reforms people but I believe true change cannot be forced. A way of thinking does not disappear, it only adapts or hides. If someone wants to change, they must be given the opportunity, the guidance, and the reason to do so. Otherwise, punishment alone is not enough.
I believe we need a justice system that sees the human behind the act, one that seeks truth, accountability, and restoration, not just punishment.
